As the Arizona State Youth Lacrosse League Division I championship wound down Saturday night at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, the PA announcer warned fans several times to stay off the field after the game.
Fans came pouring onto the field anyway. Little could be done to stop the scores of Chaparral fans on a night when little could be done to stop the scores of the Chaparral Firebirds lacrosse team.

On the high school club lacrosse scene, Brophy is sort of the old dog, having won the past two Division I state titles. Corona del Sol is the young pup, playing in just its second season in Division I and fourth overall.
Brophy found itself in a dogfight Friday night in the first half of its semifinal matchup with the Aztecs before emerging with a 9-3 victory at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale.

For the second time in the club’s 10-year history, Xavier College Prep has won the Arizona girls high school Division 2 state lacrosse championship, edging Phoenix Country Day 9-8 Friday at Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix.
