Arizona ASA this week appointed Tom Carle the Central District J.O. Commissioner.

“Tom brings an extensive background of softball experience,” said Rick Hormann Arizona ASA State J.O. Commissioner. “(He) also has a tremendous background as an Umpire as well. He brings 33 years of officiating experiences in a variety of sports.”

Carle has worked as an ASA umpire since 1977 and has received the Gold Medal ASA Umpire award. He has been assigned to three National ASA tournaments

Carle has been part of more than 500 youth fast pitch events in 23 years as USSSA state director, as umpire in chief and tournament director. He has been owner of Recreational Services since 1986, an organization that specializes in organizing athletic events.

“With Tom as our new Central District J.O. Commissioner, I believe with all of his experience, we will continue to improve our J.O. program in the Central District as well as the entire State,” Hormann said.

The appointment took effect Tuesday.
