Mckenzie Roque’s walkoff single Saturday scored Liz Aguilar, lifting the Hillcrest Falcons to a 3-2 win over the Highland Lakes Bears in the North Valley Middle School League Conference seventh-grade softball tournament at Desert Arroyo Middle School.
Aguilar set up the winning hit with a one-out double. She also had a triple for the Falcons.
Ashley Redd went the distance in the circle for the Falcons. She scattered three hits, struck out eight and walked just two.
Roque singled twice. Dani Arnberger and Redd each added a single.
The Falcons grabbed an early 2-0 lead with two runs in the first inning. The Bears tied it with two of their own in the fourth.
Brooke Homsey pitched a complete game for the Bears. She struck out seven.
Andy Phillips and Robyn Rall singled for the Bears.
