Arizona State handed the Texas A&M Aggies their first loss of the season Saturday night, rallying for a 10-4 victory in the Kajikawa Classic.
The Aggies took an early lead when Rhiannon Kliesing hit a three run home run to straightaway centerfield in the top of the first inning.
The Devils took the lead in the second inning, scoring five times, four on Katelyn Boyd's grand slam. Texas A&M added a run in the top of the third, but ASU scored two in the bottom of the inning to extend the lead.
Christina Zambrana, who entered the game batting .143 on the young season, came up big for the Devils (4-1), going 3-for-4 with two singles and a three-run homer.
The bottom third of the order was key for ASU, as they went a combined 4-for-7 with seven runs scored.
Megan Elliott pitched a complete game and struck out six. She improved her record to 2-1. |
